A Sympathy Card from the Whole Team

When a colleague or friend loses someone, it's hard to know what to say on your own. Share one link, and everyone adds a few words in their own time. They receive one card that shows how many people are thinking of them.

A group sympathy card is one online card that a team or group signs from a shared link, so a grieving colleague or friend receives everyone's condolences together.

Signed Together sympathy card for Maria, with quiet messages of condolence from her colleagues
One card with the whole team's condolences.

How do I make a sympathy card the whole team can sign?

Create a free card, share one link with the team, and send it when everyone has had time to write. People add a message from any device, without making an account.

  1. 1

    Create the card

Pick the Sympathy occasion and add who it's for. Keep the title simple, such as "With deepest sympathy". It's free and takes about two minutes.

  2. 2

    Share one link

Send the link to the team by chat or email, and let people know there's no rush. Everyone can write in their own time.

  3. 3

    Everyone adds a message

Each person writes a few words from any phone or computer, and can add a photo or a memory if it feels right. Nobody needs an account to sign.

  4. 4

Send it when it feels right

Sooner is kinder, so most teams send it within a few days. Email it to them, or with Premium choose the date and time it arrives.

What does a group sympathy card look like?

It's a board of short messages from everyone. This is a sample with made-up messages: scroll through, or tap Share Invite Link to see how you'd invite the team. Nothing you change is saved.

What should you write in a sympathy card?

A sentence or two is enough. Say you're sorry, that you're thinking of them, and, if it feels right, share a kind memory or offer help.

  • Short and simple

“I'm so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family.”

  • Giving them time

“Please take all the time you need. We're here whenever you're ready.”

  • When words are hard

“I don't have the right words, but I'm thinking of you and sending love.”

  • Offering help

“If there's anything I can do, even something small, please let me know.”

  • If you knew the person

“I'll always remember how kind your mother was to all of us. Holding you in my thoughts.”

  • From a manager

“Please don't worry about work. Take the time you need, and know the whole team is thinking of you.”

Why send one card from the whole team?

Because it can be hard for each person to know what to say alone, and one card lets everyone show their support together.

One Card from Everyone

Instead of a scattering of separate notes, they receive one card with everyone's messages together.

In Everyone's Own Time

There's no rush. The link stays open until you send the card, so people can write when they're ready.

No Account Needed to Sign

Anyone with the link can add a message, so the whole team, and friends outside work, can take part.

Help with the Words

Gentle message ideas are there for anyone who isn't sure what to say.

Photos and Memories

People can add a photo or a shared memory alongside their message, if it feels right.

Something to Keep

They get their own link to the card, and with Premium you can download a high-res JPG or a PDF booklet to print.

Sympathy card questions

What do you write in a sympathy card for a coworker?
Keep it short and sincere: say you're sorry for their loss and that you're thinking of them. If it's true, add a kind memory of the person or an offer of practical help. You don't need perfect words.
When should a team send a sympathy card?
Sooner is better: within a few days of hearing the news, if you can. But there's no wrong time, and a card that arrives later still shows people are thinking of them.
Does everyone need an account to sign?
No. Anyone with the link can add a message from a phone or computer without making an account, and there's no limit on how many people can sign.
Is it free?
Yes. Creating the card, collecting unlimited messages and photos, and sending it is free. Premium is $2.49 per card and adds scheduled delivery, a high-resolution JPG download, a print-ready PDF booklet, premium covers and backgrounds, and branding removal.
